
Betty L. (Poulson) Fischer, age 88, of Fairborn, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at St. Ann’s Hospital, Columbus. Betty was born February 7, 1921 in Columbus, and was raised and educated in Osborn. She attended Dayton Comptometer School before she was married to Carl Henry Fischer. Betty and Carl were very active in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She was the President of the women’s group, advisor to the Luther League, member of the altar guild, and attended weekly bible study. Preceded in death by her parents, George and Viola Poulson; husband, Carl Henry Fischer, Sr., in 1996; infant son, Gale Lee; and grandson, Eric Piotter. Betty will be missed by her sons, Carl (Jennifer) Fischer and Dennis (Sheryl) Fischer; grandchildren, Charissa (Bill) Doherty, of Galena, Eric Fischer, of Denver, CO, Erin (Mike) Schaefer, of Ashland, Mark (Joyce) Fischer and Brian Fischer, of Fairborn; and 13 great-grandchildren. Betty loved her family, and they always brought a smile to her face. Her family will always remember the great smells from her kitchen including peanut butter cookies and Boston cream pies. They fondly remember the camping trips and clothing she used to sew for them. Memorial services 11am Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Abiding Christ Lutheran Church, 326 E. Dayton-Yellow-Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324, Pastors Craig Fourman and Sue Nelson, officiating. Family will hold the burial at Fairfield Cemetery at a later date.
