Beverly Jean Sweeney

Beverly Jean Sweeney, age 75 of Gahanna, passed away peacefully Saturday February 25, 2012 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was a 1954 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School. Bev retired from The State Teachers Retirement System and Columbus State Community College. She also led aquatic classes at Wyandotte Athletic Club and Cardinal Orthopedic Institute for the Arthritis Foundation. She was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church. Bev is preceded in death by her step-father Harold Souder and brother Dennis Souder, she is survived by her dear mother Eloise Souder, loving children Timothy J. (Nancy) Wood and Molly A. (Tim) Raup, grandchildren: Britney (Ben) Hubble, Treven (Allison Kreitzer) Wood, Connor Wood, Drew Miller, Tim Raup, Ben (Amy) Raup and Kaitlyn Raup; nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Tonia Souder, nephews: Jason (Sarah) Souder, Matthew (Erin) Souder and Todd Souder, fiancé Amber Davis, many cousins and dear friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4pm Saturday March 3, 2012 at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel 1051 East Johnstown Road (at Beecher Road) Gahanna, where the family will receive friends from 3pm until Service. Pastor Kai Nilsen officiating. Private family interment.
