Birgit Hixon

Birgit was most recently employed by the City of Gahanna before retiring 6 years ago. She was a nurturing person who loved helping people. Together with her husband, she devoted time to helping those less fortunate. She enjoyed watching football and especially enjoyed watching her son play. She also taught spinning classes. Above all, she was an awesome wife, mother and grandmother.

Birgit was born on March 6, 1958 in Neunkirchen, Germany to Manfred and Elfriede (Staub) Neu. She met her husband Marvin Hixon, who survives, in Germany in 1980 when he was stationed there while serving in the Army. They were married on November 27, 1985. . In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Domenik Hixon and Kevin (Mandy) Blair; grandchildren Lorenzo Hixon, Lawson Blair and Natalie Blair; her mother and two brothers Siegmund and Harold Neu, all of Germany; mother-in-law Bessie M. Hixon, brothers-in-law Adrian (Valerie) Hixon and Douglas Hixon; sisters-in-law Florence Black and Debra Freeman as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father and father-in-law Bud Lue Hixon.

Friends may visit at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5PM until 6PM at which time a memorial service will be conducted by the family.
