Blaine T. Sickles

Blaine T. Sickles, 89, of Dublin and a long-time resident of Upper Arlington died November 16, 2014. He was the son of Trent D. and Marjorie L. (Smith) Sickles. He was a graduate of Upper Arlington High School, Miami University (Ohio) and University of Miami Law School (Florida).

He served on many boards in the Columbus area, including COSI, Franklin Park Conservatory and 44 years on The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium board.

He was an assistant attorney general of Ohio under C. William O’Neill. His business career was with Nationwide Insurance. And he served 20 years on The Upper Arlington City Council.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Yvonne; children Trent (Sandy), Laurie (Rob), Stewart Sickles. Step-children, Alexis (Jim) Solly and Andrew (Khris) Winthrop, grandchildren, Charlie, Kathleen, Blaine and David Sickles, Jack and Noah Winthrop, great grandson Charlie Sickles; and sister, Ming Fisher.

There will be no visitation or services. Cremation by Schoedinger Northwest.
