Boyd "Woody" Wooten

Boyd W. "Woody" Wooten, age 83, of Gahanna, Oh was called home to God on Thursday, October 29, 2009. Preceded in death by the love of his life June E Wooten, mother, Susie Schillinger and father, Theodore Wooten. Survived by daughter, Linda S. Althouse of Gahanna; granddaughter, Melissa Sims of Reynoldsburg; great-grandchildren, Britany and Isiah Sims of Reynoldsburg, 2 brothers, Kenneth Wooten of Delaware and Jack Wooten of Gahanna; sister, Ruth Sayre of Columbus; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Jeannie and Clark Scites of Gahanna. He honored our country with his services in the Navy from 1942-1946 and Army from 1947-1964. Retired from the Army as a CW02 then went on to retire from Nationwide Insurance as a claims adjuster in 1985. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the VFW Post #4719 and served in WWII and Korean War.

Family would like to thank Summerville at Chestnut Hill and Harbor Light Hospice for the wonderful care given to Woody. Funeral services will be held at 12pm, Wednesday, November 4th, at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel 1051 E Johnstown Rd, Gahanna 43230, where family will receive friends beginning at 11am; Mr. Rodney Scites, officiating; interment Riverside Cemetery.
