

Brice O. Recker, age 68, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 3, 2017 at Kobacker House. He was born December 31, 1948 in Lima, Ohio, Allen County, the 3rd of 12 children born to Laura (Vennekotter) Recker and the late Joseph H. Recker.
Following graduation from Miller City High School, Brice completed his undergraduate studies at Bluffton University (Bachelor’s in Economics and Business) followed by Case Western Reserve University-Weatherhead School of Management (M.B.A.) and Ohio Northern University-Claude W. Pettit College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.). He proudly served in the Ohio National Guard in Ottawa, Ohio (1970-1976), attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class.
Brice most recently served as a litigation attorney with Taft, Stettinius and Hollister, LLP; previously with Okuley Smith LLP and Maguire Schneider Hassay LLP. He was a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Thomas J. Moyer American Inn of Court and found satisfaction in doing pro bono work when possible. He was a parishioner at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Jude Council #5801.
Sunday afternoons were perfect opportunities for rides in his beloved red ’79 Fiat convertible, whether traveling to a winery with Linda, his bride of 45 years, or taking his granddaughters for rides in the country. Grandpa time was special time. He will be remembered as a man of integrity who was very devoted to his faith, his community and his family. Rumor has it, that he was perhaps the best husband, dad and grandpa EVER.
His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Linda (Kahle) Recker; daughters, Bethany (Adam) Recker-Harms and Shelly Recker; granddaughters, Evelyn and Coraline; mother, Laura Recker; siblings, Dennis (Irene) Recker, Karen (Robert) Siefker, Duane Recker, Clair Recker, Lorraine (Karl) Schroeder, Brenda (Joe) Schumaker, Lois (Doyle) Erford, Joseph D. (Annie) Recker, Mark (Marilyn) Recker, Fred (Teresa) Recker and Lori Jo (Mike) Schroeder; mother-in-law, Irene Kahle; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11AM Monday, November 13, 2017 with visitation from 9:45AM until 10:45AM at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, OH 43230; Fr. Ted Sill, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 2215 Citygate Dr., Columbus, OH 43219 in his memory.
