Bruce grew up on the ballfields and golf courses of Wadsworth, Ohio, graduating from Wadsworth High School in 1968 a Conference Champion in both baseball and basketball. After a brief exodus West to Arizona State University, Bruce earned his Bachelors degree from Miami University in Finance. Early in his career he worked in the savings and loan business and in banking. He was most proud of his enduring relationships built through his fraternity, Delta Chi, where he excelled in their extensive extracurricular activities.
A steadfast professional at all times, Bruce worked for nearly 40 years in the Financial Management industry. He especially enjoyed employing his meticulous attention to detail as the Chief Financial Officer for COSI in Columbus and every Saturday as a Volunteer Parking Sheriff at Ohio State football games.
Bruce loved every aspect of life. Whether volunteering at Riverside Hospital, chauffeuring water polo teams cross-country, or patrolling neighborhoods with Griffin, Bruce was always at the ready to offer his expertise in any situation. A self-proclaimed “curmudgeon”, Bruce was always in the field honing his skills for Worthington Architectural Review Board, various HOAs and the Thomas Worthington H.S. Athletic events.
While we will all assuredly miss Bruce, if you look deep enough, he will always be with us. To get a full glimpse of Bruce’s blue eyes meant that he cared, above all, about you. His enormous embraces and encouraging limericks are truly the gifts that keep on giving.
