Bruce E. Smith, 78, of Columbus Ohio passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017. Bruce enlisted in the U.S Army in 1955 at the age of 16. He served his Country honorably and nobly during the Vietnam War as part of the 101st Airborne Division. Dedicating his life towards his country and community he served as a Columbus Police Officer, Private Investigator and held various Security Guard Detail positions. He had a love for old cars, guns, traveling and family. Bruce will be greatly missed and is survived by his son, Ryan (Melissa) Smith and grandson Anthony Tauro-Smith. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. The family will be holding a private service.
