

Byron David Prushing, age 90, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away on April 10, 2014. Born December 15th, 1923 to the late David T. and Lilly G. Prushing of Gahanna, Byron was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII as a medic. He later received a bachelor's degree in education from Otterbein University, and went on to teach at Gahanna Lincoln High School. By the time he retired from the Gahanna-Jefferson City Schools, he had touched many lives as a teacher, coach, and athletic director. Byron was one of the founding fathers of the Ohio Capital Conference and served as Secretary to the league in later years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dana. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Floretta Wolfe Prushing, sons Bruce (Gail), Brian (Scott) and Brad. His granddaughter Brandy (Jason) Archey, brother Dean Prushing, in-laws John and Loretta Wolfe, Patty Dickendesher, Marge Wolfe, and many nieces and nephews. Being a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church, all visitations and services will take place at the church on Monday April 14, 2014. The visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am, Services will begin at 11:00am, with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Peace Lutheran Church or the Gahanna Lincoln Athletic Department. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL.
