

Carl F. Sutherland, (Worthington, OH), son of Albert and Ethil Sutherland, died on Good Friday, April 2, 2010. His wife Brenda Sutherland, sons Scott A Sutherland (Blythe) of Seattle, Mark Sutherland of Manhattan Beach, CA, grandsons Aiden and Calum, sister-in-law Dee survive him. He retired after twenty seven years at The Midland Life Insurance Company, Director of Home Office Services and Purchasing. He was a U.S. Navy Captain serving in the Korean War, active duty four years, some of those years stationed in Bremerhoffen, Germany in mine sweeping ((Weser River Patrol) and ten years sealift command. He concluded his navy career in the Naval Reserve (Columbus and Mansfield areas) totaling thirty four years. He had membership in the U. S. Navy League of Columbus, Hoover Sailing Club, The Adventurers Group and The Worthington Republican Club. Services will be held Thursday at 11 AM at the Broad St. Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43205. Family will receive friends Thursday from 3-6 PM at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270) where the VFW will have a service at 5:30 PM.
