Carlos Herman Akers, (known by some as Carly) age 64, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on September 2, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on May 3, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Herman (known by his friends as Shag) and Nancy (Polling) Akers (known by her friends as Carol) who precede him death. He leaves behind his son Jason Akers; siblings Stephen (Elvira) Shields; Leah (Phillip) Jones and Rick Akers Sr. Carlos worked at the Columbus Athletic Club for over 27 years. He had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening in his backyard and was proud of all the flowers that he has grown over the years. Visitation will be held on Monday September 8, 2025 at the Advantage by Schoedinger – Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204 from 11AM to 1PM. Carlos will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Carlos’ name to the Columbus Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
