

Carlton W. (Pete) Hartley passed from this life to eternal life on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Trueman Pointe Care Center in Hilliard, Ohio at the age of 90. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pete was born on November 18, 1932, in Columbus, Ohio to Clarence Carlton and Jayne (Allen) Hartley. During his school years, he was interested in building/mechanical projects and playing the trumpet. He started a dance band (Carl Hartley Orchestra) with some of his high school friends. They played together for several years. In his later years, he enjoyed constructing Lego car models. He assembled over 30 vehicles of all sizes.
He graduated from West High School, Columbus, Ohio, Class of 1951. Upon graduation, he began his career in newspaper publications while working at The Hilltop Record. After several years, he started his own business, Hartco Printing Company, in West Jefferson, Ohio, which specialized in high school/college newspaper publications.
On June 6, 1953, Pete married his high school sweetheart, Louan Reeves. This year they celebrated their 70th anniversary! They have two daughters, Tari and Tami, and four grandchildren, Ashley, Kevin, James David (JD), and Brittany, whom he loved very much!
Pete and Louan were members of Zion Lutheran Church, West Jefferson, Ohio, Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, and Berean Bible Church, Dublin, Ohio. After retirement, he ministered to hospice patients as well as young men with addiction issues.
Pete is preceded in death by his father C. Carlton, mother Jayne, sister Patty (Hartley) Jones, and sister Kathy (Hartley Wold Anderson). He is survived in death by his wife Louan, daughters Tari Megee (Roger), Lakeland, FL, Tami Anderson (Robert), Dublin OH; grandchildren Ashley Megee, Tampa, FL, Kevin Megee, Portage, MI, James David (JD) Casto, Orlando, FL, and Brittany Anderson, Charleston, SC; sister Louann Woodcox, Brazil, IN; brother Don Hartley (Patty), London, OH and many nieces and nephews.
