Carol May Bertelsen

Carol May Bertelsen passed away peacefully on Monday September 23, 2019 at The Inn at Bear Trail Assisted Living in Lewis Center, OH. She was born and raised in Minnesota, daughter of Howard and Esther Knudtson. She was preceded in death by her parents and also her husband Dennis Bertelsen. She is survived by her brother, Howard Knudtson, her son Erik (Margie) Bertelsen, her son, Mark Bertelsen, grandchildren, Joel, Jake, Joe and Maggie Bertelsen. She was a 1955 graduate of Washburn High School and attended the University of Minnesota before moving to California and starting her career as a stewardess for TWA. She married Dennis Lund Bertelsen on Sept. 28th, 1963 and together they enjoyed traveling and making new friends. Carol also enjoyed time playing cards, golfing and attending shows at the Guthrie Theater with her girlfriends. She will be fondly remembered as a gracious hostess with a loving, caring spirit.

A special thank you to the staff and residents of The Inn at Bear Trail in Lewis Center, OH and also Ohio Health Hospice who lovingly cared for Carol during her last years of her journey with Alzheimer’s dementia. There will be a funeral service 12noon on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Lakewood Cemetery Chapel in Minneapolis, MN.
