

Carol Ann Campbell, cherished wife of Geoffrey C. Campbell for fifty-seven wonderful years and devoted mother of two, Chad Thomas Campbell (54) from Wrentham, MA, and Lauren Ann Keeler (52) from Columbus, OH, peacefully passed away on Sunday morning, August 17th at First Community Village.
Born in Columbus, OH on August 12th, 1946, to James and Ann Basford, Carol grew up in a warm and loving household alongside her sister, Donna Lee Wood (82), Venice, FL. After graduating from Linden McKinley High School in 1964, she pursued her passion for education at The Ohio State University, earning a BS in Education in 1968. On March 17th, 1968, Carol married her high school sweetheart, Geoffrey C. Campbell.
Shortly after their wedding, Carol joined Geoff on his first US Army assignment near Camp Zama in Tokyo, Japan. In 1971, the couple returned to Columbus, where Geoff transitioned into the business world and their children, Chad and Lauren, were welcomed into the family just a year apart. They lived and raised their family in Upper Arlington. Carol was a dedicated volunteer at Trinity United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, supported summer camps, and took delight in writing and directing youth group plays. She also founded and organized the inaugural Barrington Elementary Clown Around fundraiser and hosted neighborhood events to support children with Muscular Dystrophy. Carol returned to Ohio State, earning an advanced degree in Computer Science, and spent several rewarding years teaching computer literacy to adults at Columbus North High School and later East High School and Mifflin High School.
As a mother, Carol was a source of unwavering love and support for Chad and Lauren, nurturing them into strong and caring adults and parents. She was also a beloved grandmother to five grandchildren: Meghan Ann Keeler (24), Emily Jane Keeler (22), Mason Andrew Campbell (20), Henry James Campbell (18), and Rose Frances Campbell (17). Her gentle, affectionate nature created lasting memories for all, and the time spent with Grammy will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, husband, two children and their spouses Katherine W Campbell and Richard D Keeler as well as her five grandchildren, all of w.hom will carry forward the love she so generously shared throughout her life.
A Memorial Service honoring her life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd, Columbus, 43212 at 3:00PM, Saturday, August 23rd where guests will be received from 2:00PM to the time of service. She will be privately interred at Union Cemetery. Schoedinger Northwest is entrusted with serving the Campbell family.
