

Carol Diane Wright-Garrison-Kiefer, 72, of Columbus, passed away on August 15, 2019. She was born on May 29, 1947 to the late Roger and Betty (Mcquiston) Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother; Richard Wright, and her sister; Janet Anderson.
Carol was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1969 where she got a degree in education. Carol's passion was teaching and she taught Spanish and French in the Upper Arlington School system until her retirement in 2012.
Carol was a lifelong special needs advocate. As a member of Beechwoold Church of Christ, she coordinated a spiritual education and outreach program for adults with developmental disabilities and was also involved with The Special Olympics. She was a firm believer in the rights of all individuals regardless of their mental or physical abilities to have an active voice in the church and in the community. She brought a compassionate and caring heart to many people through her skills as a teacher and a volunteer. Among other things that Carol enjoyed, she loved handcrafts, reading about historic events, and ancestry research.
Carol shared the last twenty-four years of her life in a tranquil and loving marriage with her husband Rolf. She is also survived by Children, Russell (Melissa) Garrison, Angela Garrison, and Michelle (Jesse Binder) Garrison, sister; Joanne (Ed) Farley, grandchildren; Maxwell and Owen Smith, Fiona Mackie, Jackson Donaldson, Kate Garrison, Russell Garrison Jr., and Violet Garrison.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27 from 3:30PM until 6:30PM at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street, Worthington Ohio, 43085. A memorial service will be held at 6:30PM.
