

Carol was the first-born child to Kathryn Currin and Edward Wilson. She was baptized at an early age at the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma and was an active member of the children and youth choirs. Carol loved to sing and play the guitar. She had a beautiful voice that she delighted in lifting up to glorify the Lord!
Carol was a graduate of the historic Manual Training High School with the Class of 1968. After graduation, she went to work for Southwestern Bell until 1975 when she enlisted in the United States Air Force. After four years of service to the Air Force as a Medical Service Specialist, she chose to end her military career and was honorably discharged. Carol was reinstated to her former position in San Antonio, Texas with Southwestern Bell and retired after 30 years of service.
During her time in San Antonio, Texas, she became a faithful member of the True Vision Church. Carol served in the church as Sunday School teacher and choir member.
She also received a Bachelor Degree of Business from Our Lady of the Lake University while living in San Antonio, Texas.
Carol left San Antonio, Texas in 2010 and moved to Columbus, Ohio to be closer to her brother, Ralph, and his family. She remained in Columbus until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn Ballard and Edward Wilson and her sister, Sandra E. Wilson.
Remaining to lament her passing are her Aunt Valma Barnes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brothers, Ralph (Sandra) Wilson of Pickerington, Ohio, Mathew (Wilma) Wilson of Montgomery, Alabama, Edward Wilson, and Michael Wilson of Montgomery, Alabama; sisters, Sabrina (Daniel) Corbett of North Carolina, Yvette Hamilton of Montgomery, Alabama, FiFi Wilson, Davetta Wilson of Montgomery Alabama, April (Johnny) Johnson of Montgomery, Alabama; nieces, Krystalyn Foster of Coweta, Oklahoma, LaDedra Wilson of Pickerington, Ohio, Myken and Larke Albert of Pickerington, Ohio, Hilary Wilson of Pickerington, Ohio and Lena Wilson of Pickerington, Ohio; nephews, Brad and Christian Campbell of Coweta, Oklahoma, Stanley Foster, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brandon Wilson of Pickerington, Ohio, Drake Albert of Pickerington, Ohio and a host of other extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends 10 am until 11 am Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43232, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am until 12 pm. Attendance levels will be monitored in compliance with social distancing requirements. We respectfully ask friends and guests to wear a mask for everyone's continued safety at this time. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
