Carole Jean Mays

Carole J. Mays, (Galbraith), age 69, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, January 13, 2023 . She is joined in heaven, by the love of her life, her soulmate and husband of 20 years, Paul. She was born and raised in Newark, OH where she graduated from Newark High School. After graduation, she left the only thing she knew and moved to Columbus to attend Columbus College of Art and Design. She was offered a job at Nationwide Insurance where she was able to begin her 36 year career as a graphic artist. Carole not only enjoyed art, but she loved to travel, garden, watch anything staring James Spader or Robert Downey Jr. and be around animals. Throughout her life, she has had several dogs, cats and horses. Her first love however, was her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Tricia (Stephen Block) Mays, and Erin (Jonathan) Glass as well as the two most important people in her life, her grandchildren, Colleen and Corey Glass who affectionately referred to her as Gramma Gramma. She is also survived by her brother, David (Jane) Galbraith, and sister Barcy Galbraith, a niece, nephew, and 3 best friends who were just like family Judy Fischer, Cindy Wright and Linda Cremeens. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 19, 2023 from 5PM to 7PM at the Advantage Funeral & Cremation by Schoedinger – Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204. Funeral service will be held on Friday January 20, 2023 at 10AM also at the Advantage Funeral & Cremation services by Schoedinger – Hilltop Chapel. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S High St. Lockbourne, Ohio 43137.
