

Carole S. “Kookie” Mikesell, age 64 of Columbus, left this world to be with Our Father in Heaven on Sunday, March 7, 2010. Carole was born in Blytheville, Arkansas, daughter of the late Cecil and Charis Cooper. Carole’s true calling in life was to be a wonderful wife and mother. She met and married the love of her life, Paul after a mere 18 days, and together, they have celebrated over 32 years of marriage. Throughout the years, Carole and Paul not only raised their nine children, but also through Franklin County Children’s Services, they fostered nearly 100 children. Carole was a longtime active member of The Redeemer’s Church, where she also coordinated The Silver Saints, a ministry for senior citizens. Carole held a terrific sense of humor, infectious laugh, and she will be missed by many. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul; children, Chrystal (Robert) Tourt, Tulsi (Todd) Becker, Christine (John) Morris, Andrew (fiancé Bethany Hintz) Mikesell, Donald Mikesell, Albert Mikesell, Denny (Shaundra) Mikesell, Charis (Deangelio Woodley) Mikesell, and Nathan (Leandra) Mikesell; 13 grandchildren; step-mother, Vesta Cooper; numerous brothers and sisters; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, March 12, 2010 at The Redeemer’s Church, 1850 Courtright Rd., where family will receive friends from 4-9 P.M. Thursday.
