She was the first teacher I remember who really saw who I was and showed me how to bring my best self to the way I approached assignments, and by extension, the world. She helped me to love language. I admired her so. She will be missed.

My Aunt Cathy had some of the biggest and most consequential impacts on my life, and on the lives of countless others.  She selflessly gave her time, warmth, empathy, encouragement and spirit to me, whenever I needed it, without hesitation, and always without judgement.  She was the major spirit of our broad, extensive Muzilla family.  And, she was a bit of rebel, which I dearly loved.  In ways that she will never know, she strongly influenced my education, family, career, and self.  For that, I am forever grateful.  Her meaningful impact on the lives of others is what made her truly special.  I know that God, and Her love, are with her now.

Rest in peace, Cathy.

Ms. Muzilla was an influential teacher that had a positive impact many people at a key developmental age, including myself. While I am saddened by her passing, I know her teachings and positive influence on so many young people will carry on forever through many wonderful forms.

Ms. Muzilla was a wonderful teacher and a kind and amazing person. I remember that she was the first teacher we kids ever called “Ms”. She would correct you if you slipped up and called her “Miss”. Colonial Hills was lucky to have her! When I worked at WHS she was teaching at Evening Street and we often talked at lunch when she had playground duty. Cathy was a light that shone brightly in so many children’s lives. :purple_heart:

Sad news, indeed! Cathy became a part of our family when she lived with us when she attended OSU...I remember her getting up and out early for her student teaching...she was so sweet and so “diabolical” :sun_with_face:another big sister who teased me, and I secretly loved it. May your memories of a sweet, funny lady bring you comfort as you celebrate her life.

Another hero departs. My Colonial Hills class was fortunate enough to have her, a master teacher, for both 5th and 6th grades. 
She arrived in her classroom bright and early; I believe she came right after morning mass, though she was quiet about her faith. She taught grammar rigorously and was a role model of strength, feminism (It's Ms.Muzilla, please), conscience and empathy. One of the greatest women of my childhood.

I am the oldest grandchild of the Muzilla family and the son of Aunt Cathy's oldest brother, Edward. Aunt Cathy was only 8 years older than I am and it was always nice watching all that she did in life while I was growing up. I always looked up to her and her zest for life. I will miss you very much. God bless you.

I have very fond memories of days at the Ohio State University with Cathy and our mutual Gamma Phi Beta sisters.  Cathy was a joy to be around. She will be missed by all who knew her.

I am sorry to read of Cathy Muzilla’s passing. She was my son’s sixth-grade teacher at Colonial Hills Elementary. At our first conference, I held my breath to hear her assessment of my son. She said he was “wonderful”.. which is something I rarely heard at that school. My son thrived in her class and never looked back. What a great teacher she was, seeing the best in every student and encouraging them every day. I am always grateful to her and luckily was able to tell her years later. May she be resting in peace and reunited with her family in heaven.

Catherine was an avid gardener and helped to make the Knolls Garden Club members better informed.  Thank you Catherine!

One of the greatest teachers of my life. She was a blessing to all her students. I adored her and, like a lot of other little boys, she was my first real crush.  In elementary school I was convinced I was going to grow up to marry her. Ms. Mozilla understood the delicacies involved in such situations and was always very kind to all her young admirers. She gave her life over to noble cause and will always be a hero to me; the very essence of what an educator can and should be in her children’s lives. She will live on fondly in my memories. Rest In Peace my mentor.

Ms. Muzilla was my 5th grade teacher. To this day I vividly remember writing and editing papers. Very few computers to access then so we wrote the papers on notebook paper, edited, cut out sentences and rearranged to formulate a cohesive argument. Her teaching skills were second to none and what I learned from her i use often in life. I also remember her talking about going to Mass everyday before school. I was always inspired by that. May the Lord bless you all as you grieve this loss.

I was so glad to have had Ms. Muzilla all those years ago at Colonial Hills.  She was a great person and even better teacher!  She touched many lives and will live on in her students for many years to come!

She was an amazing teacher. I have so many stories I could tell. There are so many memories. I am so glad I got to see her several years ago at a Colonial Hills celebration. She will forever live on in the lives of those students who learned so much from her.
