Cecil Kay Cox

Cecil Kay Cox, age 83, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 6, 2013. He was born January 2, 1930 in West Jefferson, Ohio to the late Cecil M. and Gladys A. Cox; also preceded in death by a sister, Irma Morgan. Cecil was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served as an aviation machinist during the Korea and Vietnam Wars; he retired from General Motors. He married Lucille Hess on June 15, 1954. Cecil loved fishing, hunting, golfing and camping… any activity that allowed him to be outdoors. Along with his wife of 59 years, Lucille, he is survived by his sons, Michael (Becka) Cox of Wildwood, FL and Gary Lee (Diane) Cox of Westerville, OH; step-grandsons, Tony and Barry McKinnon; grandsons, Robert (Amie) Cox of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Michael W. (Linda) Cox of New Smyrna Beach, FL; great-grandsons, Jason Rehberg and Brice Cox; siblings, Dale (Marianne) Cox, Joyce (Clyde) Thomas and Gilbert (Kathy) Cox; sisters-in-law, Eileen Howes and Mildred Helmes; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Family will receive friends 2-4pm Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43204 with a service beginning at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, OH 43017.
