Charles N. Beck

A funeral service for Charles N. Beck will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark; Rev. John Herra of Neal Avenue United Methodist Church officiating.

Charles was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to the late Martin and Ethel Beck. He was a member of the Ernest Tubb Fan Club, and he enjoyed collecting Ernest Tubb and John Wayne memorabilia. He also enjoyed reading, and he was a wonderful storyteller. He retired from Owens Corning.

Charles was a loving father and grandfather who was very proud of his family. He is survived by his children, Carol Powell, Gary Beck, and Roger (Lorena) Beck; brothers, James Robert Beck and Donald Beck; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Edna “Louise” Beck; and siblings, Helen, Ruth, and Daniel.
