
Charles (Chuck) B. Boyer, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. He was born June 29, 1924 in Urbana, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents Rufus and Lena Boyer, and his sister Marian Besgrove. He is survived by his wife Martha, daughter Janet (William) Kriebel, son Eric (Diane) Boyer, grandchildren Anne Kriebel, Sarah (Kriebel) Markley, Erin Boyer, and Emily Boyer. During WWII, Chuck served in the Pacific Fleet aboard the USS Manning. He graduated from the Tri-State College and became employed by Battelle Memorial Institute where he was instrumental in the development of the Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) process and inducted as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Chuck was a 32? Mason, a member of the Aladdin Shriners Pipes and Drums and Covenant Presbyterian Church. Our family thanks HomeReach Hospice and the staff of Mill Run for their support. Friends may call at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road on Friday, January 22, 5-7 p.m. A private burial will be held on Saturday. Contributions may be made to a charity in remembrance of Chuck.
