

Charles E. “Chod” Corbin, 88, of Grove City, passed away suddenly Friday, April 2, 2010. He was born September 22, 1921 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles E. and Beatrice Corbin. Chod is also preceded in death by his son, Patrick. Chod is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Anna; daughter, Cathy Johnson; grandsons, Justin, Tim and Chod; granddaughters, Sue and Ashley; great-granddaughters, Kristyn and Caitlyn and his sister, Evelyn Dimel. Chod was a veteran of the US Navy, proudly serving during WWII. He survived the sinking of his ship, DD559 USS Longshaw at Okinawa in 1945. He was retired from Lazarus, doing plumbing and refrigeration, after 38 years of service. Chod enjoyed fishing and tending to his garden. He was a Holy Family Alumni and was attending Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL 3920 Broadway Grove City where a prayer service will be held at 3:30PM Tuesday. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Holy Family Church 584 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
