

Charles E. Handley Jr., age 90, passed away Wednesday January 23, 2019 at Sunrise of Dublin. He was born June 15, 1928 in Niagara Falls, New York to the late Charles E. and Evelyn I. (Dennis) Handley. After graduating Niagara Falls High School in 1946, Chuck joined the United States Army and served following WWII. In 1952, he graduated from Clarkson College of Technology with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. Over the years Chuck worked for Shredded Wheat, The Niagara Falls Gazette and Buffalo Forge Company. He loved golf, bridge, listening to music, jokes, puns and trivia as well as a challenging crossword puzzle. He was a Mason, 32nd degree and member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by step mother Dorothy Handley, his infant daughter, sisters-in-law Barbara (Skip) Edger, Nancy (Wilbert) Smith, a brother-in-law Dick (Joann) Eisaman, and a niece Susan Pierce. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 65 years, Jane (Eisaman); children, Barbara (Dale) Selhorst, Deborah (Tom) Cowee, Patricia (Doug) Lanum and Linda (Rick) Moore; grandchildren, Robyn (Matt) Parham, Erin (Michael) Corbett, Charles Lanum (Brook Craig), Teresa (Logan) Kingen, Morgan (Will) Stringer, Jessi Selhorst (Charlie Martin), Robbi Moore and Rocky Moore; siblings, Phyllis (Halbert) Pierce and Robert (Debi) Handley, a sister-in-law Liz (Jack) Delany; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1:00pm Tuesday January 29, 2019 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 N. High St where friends may call from 11:30am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio.
