

Charles, “Chuck” to his friends, was born on March 31st, 1933 to Dwight and Hattie Hensel in Columbus Ohio. Chuck graduated from West HS and attended The Ohio State University. He married Barbara I. (Wilson) Hensel in December of 1953 and enjoyed 59 years by her side until she passed in 2012. He was a member of the US Air Force and enjoyed a long and successful 22 year career in the Weather Forecasting services. After retiring from the military he had a second career in Facilities Maintenance and worked for several Central Ohio property management firms. After retiring from his civilian occupation he spent more time enjoying winters in Florida and going out for meals with his family along with cheering on the Buckeyes.
Chuck was a long time parishioner of Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church where he served in different capacities as Usher, Head Usher, Deacon, and also on the church Council. For the past four years he attended Faith Covenant Church in Westerville, where he will be sadly missed by many.
He is survived by his brother Norman (Kathy) Hensel, sister-in-law Joyce Stambaugh, his children Daniel (Molly) Hensel, Cheryl (Kevin) Throwe, and Thomas (Sandra) Hensel, (7) Grand Children, and (8) Great-Grandchildren.
Friends may call 4:00pm – 6:00pm Thursday December 22, 2016 at FAITH COVENANT CHURCH 3607 Dempsey Rd. Westerville, Ohio 43081. A celebration of life service will begin at 7:00pm
