Charles "Chuck" Russell

Charles E. "Chuck" Russell, age 68, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 15, 2015. He was born December 8, 1946 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to the late Lloyd and Marie (Jacquet) Russell; also preceded in death by his granddaughter Crystal Butler and infant brother William Russell. Chuck was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School and the University of Dayton where he studied electronics and computers. He was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church and worked for Hartman Electric in Mansfield and Ohio Mobile Telephone. Chuck was a Ham Radio enthusiast since 1964 and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Amateur Radio Club; He founded the Mt. Vernon Amateur Radio Repeater System. He especially loved fishing and spending time with family and friends. Chuck is survived by his siblings, Donald (Darlene) Russell and Carolyn (Mark) Allen; sons, Kyle (Angie Hopeck), Michael (Stacy Tussing) and Steven Russell and their mother, Karen (Lloyd) Paschal; grandchildren, Stephen (Kirsten) Moore, Anthony Williams, Daniel, Liam, Christen, Loren, Anna and Jamie Russell; great-grandchildren Kelly and Shae Moore; special friend, Marie Tussing; 2 nieces; 2 nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; extended family and many good friends. Funeral Service 11am Friday, September 18, 2015 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229 where family will welcome friends beginning at 10am; Fr. Ray Larussa, officiating. Graveside service 1:30pm Friday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens, 18260 Coshocton Rd., Mt. Vernon, OH 43050; where Fr. Mark Hammond will preside.
