

Charles Barnett Williams, born August 3, 1944 in Crenshaw, Mississippi, departed this life on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the age of 70. He was a graduate of East High School. Charles entered into the United States Marine Corp on October 19, 1965 and was honorably discharged. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal with one star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Services Medal with one star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a rifle sharpshooter badge. He was a mail carrier for The Ohio State University and worked at the receiving building at 2650 Kenny Road. He also drove for the Yellow Cab Co. until he had a stroke February 17, 2002 and was no longer able to work. He attended New Hope Pentecostal U.H.C. and received Jesus as his savior. Charles loved going fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Dessie Williams; and brother, Tommy Jr., Melvin, and Ronald Williams. He leaves to mourn his two sisters, Shirley (Clarence) Thomas and Cherry Smith; sister in-law, Julie Williams all of Columbus; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Friends may call on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 9:00AM-10:00AM until time of funeral service at 10:00AM at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Elder Clarence Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
