Cherry Moss Crawford

Cherry Anne Moss Crawford, age 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 29, 2016. Cherry was born on September 29, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Wynfred and Opal (Cherry) Moss. In addition, Cherry was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Moss Caton; brothers-in-law, David George Caton and Edward Philip Crawford and sister-in-law, Ann Crain Crawford. Cherry will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 62 years, John Patrick Crawford, M.D.; her children, Thomas Patrick (Jean) Crawford and Cynthia Crawford Hall; grandchildren, Daniel Patrick (Lauren) Crawford, Mark Thomas Crawford, Margaret Cherry Hall and Patrick Steven Hall; niece, Pamela Caton (Nick) Abbott; and nephews, James Wynfred (Jill) Caton and John David (Terri) Caton. Cherry grew up on the Hilltop, attended Glenwood United Methodist Church and was a graduate of West High School Class of 1948. She attended The Ohio State University where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and worked as a secretary to the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry. Cherry was an active member of the OSU Medical Auxiliary and served as the Treasurer of TWIG 107 of Children's Hospital. She was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Cherry was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed her summers at Chimney Corners Resort on Crystal Lake in Northern Michigan with family and friends. A special thank you to Cherry's Mount Carmel Hospice and Comfort Keepers Caregivers. Family will receive friends 11-1 PM on Friday, November 4, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where a funeral service will follow at 1 PM.
