Christine M. Baldy

Christine M. Baldy died March 28, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, just shy of her 102nd birthday. The angels escorted her to heaven where was greeted by her parents, Mabel and Herbert Mingus; sister Ernestine; brother Gordon; husband Joseph, and son Larry. She graduated from Ohio University in 1935 with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics. Next to faith and family, she loved quilting, sewing, cooking, baking, teaching and gardening.

She had a servant's heart, coupled with a sweet, gentle spirit. She will be remembered as a caring, thankful and strong-willed woman. As a wife, mother and daughter, she was selfless, nurturing, loving, compassionate and hard working. She had a generous heart and grew strength from her family, her Church - both Catholic and Church of Christ - and her friends. She lived her life with grace, and quiet "behind the scenes" activities and spent endless hours caring for others. She lived her faith and left every life she touched better than she found it. She was such a vital force in the lives of her family for so long, that they thought they would maybe have her forever... She now enjoys everlasting life.

Such a long and rich life is to be celebrated, not mourned.

The family would like to thank friends, Dr. Donati, hospice nurses, and caregivers, Sharon and Carla. The care you lovingly provided helped Christine to live each day to the fullest.

Christine is survived by her daughter, Sister Sharen (SCN); son, Mark and wife Valerie; grandchildren Scott (Kathy), Juli (Andy), Lori (Duncan), Joseph (Amy), and Kimberly; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Family will welcome friends 5-8pm Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43204 where services will be held at 10am Wednesday, April 1, 2015; interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, Ohio; Minister Richard Baumberger, officiating.
