

Clarence E. “Bud” Newkirk, 75, of Kingston, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Circleville Care and Rehab. He was born July 16, 1936 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Clarence E. and Laura Hazel (Montooth) Newkirk. He had one sister, Laura May Scott. Bud served in the U.S. Marines and worked as a roofer. He was a big fan of OSU football. Auctions were his passion and whether buying, selling or just looking, Bud enjoyed auctions. Bud was preceded in death by a son, James Edgar. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Phyllis (Vincent) Newkirk; his children, Leonard (Patty) Newkirk and Ronald Newkirk of Columbus, Rosemary Newkirk of Kingston, Gregory Newkirk of Columbus, William Newkirk of Marengo and Wilma (Jeffrey) Clyne of Kingston; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his special Chihuahua, Snicker.
Funeral service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home where friends may call from 5:00 pm on Tuesday until the time of service.
