D. Arlene Miller

Doris "Arlene" Miller passed on November 14, 2018. She was born in Huron, South Dakota on March 10, 1926 to Ed and Jenny (Groothius) Christensen. She started school in a one room school in Wicksville, SD and started high school in Owanka, SD. After moving to Rapid City she graduated from Central High. Arlene went to work for Northwestern Bell in 1943. She was a manager until 1955 when she married Glenn Miller and transferred to Ohio Bell in Columbus, Ohio. She started as an operator at OBT and retired as a manager in traffic in 1982. She was a past president of telecom pioneers. She is survived by her husband Glenn and sisters Norma Nelson and Sandra Featherstone of South Dakota as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. Per Arlene's wishes, there will be no public services. Private cremation entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr., Columbus, OH 43231 or Columbus Humane, 3015 Scioto-Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, OH 43026 in her memory.
