Dallas Lue Shumate

Dallas Lue (Meadows) Shumate, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord on April 23, 2015. Dallas was born in Oceana, West Virginia, daughter of the late Henry and Effie (Day) Meadows. Also preceded in death by her sisters, Jane Wheatley and Anice Odell, and brothers, Henry Jr., Carlos, Henry Lee, Johnnie, Gerald, and Darvis Meadows. Dallas was a loving woman with a servant's heart. She enjoyed helping others, entertaining, singing in her church choir, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. She had a generous, caring spirit and she will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Al Shumate; daughters, Debbie (Jim) Williamson and Dodi Shumate; grandchildren, Justin (Rasika) and Jonathan (Ashley) Williamson, and Chelsea and Whitney Babbert; sister, Wanda Gary; sister-in-law, Anne Meadows; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 2-5 P.M. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna.
