

A funeral service, to celebrate the life of Daniel J. Andrews, 69 of Newark, will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 8:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. The Licking County Veteran’s Alliance will provide military honors at the funeral home.
Daniel was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 7, 1942 to the late William and Margaret (Scanlon) Andrews. He passed away at his residence on June 26, 2011 while surrounded by his family.
Daniel proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. He was a group leader at Owens-Corning for over 39 years. He enjoyed playing softball, fishing, camping, golfing, boating, bowling, and at an earlier age, drove stock cars. He was very proud and took immaculate care of his yard. He was also a lover of peanut butter and was known for putting peanut butter on his eggs, steak and chocolate. Most important in life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Marjorie (Dingey) Andrews, whom he married on February 14, 1991; children, William D. (Sonja) Andrews, Kimberly J. (Dave) Hammond, Daniel M. (Heather) Andrews; step-children, Jodi (Mark) Wills and William (Sammi) Harper; grandchildren, Cord, Chase, Garrett, Tosha, Alisha, Tabitha, Hannah, Landon, Dakota, Drake, Dawson, Drennen, Danielle and Brandon; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Braiden, Zavid, Kaylin, Tasia and Bentley; brother, James (Terri) Andrews; sisters, Debbie (Clark) Forbes and Margaret Leighton; close cousins, Jack and Sharon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Matthew J. Andrews; previous wife, Donna J. (Stevens) Andrews; grandson, David T. Hammond; step-daughter, Sherry Halbedel; and brother, William Charles Andrews.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Daniel to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Family and friend may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Thursday from 5:00-8:00 PM.
