Daniel Wladyslaw Bochra

Daniel W. "Big Dan" Bochra, 71, succumbed to cancer surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. He was born in New Britain, CT to the late Mary (Kochanowicz) and Casimir Bochra. Dan graduated from Marianapolis Prep School in Thompson, CT in 1960. He is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Bochra. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rose; daughter, Donna (Jose) Rodriguez; son, Greg (fiancée Lorie Waters); many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Dan proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1980, and the Dept. of Defense, DCSC in Whitehall, OH from 1980 to 1997. Dan shared a close bond with his "Road Dog" Tom Knott (and family); retired Air Force buddy, Dave MacFeiggan and more recently the Baldogo family. He cherished his walks with his faithful companion, Lance and visits with his neighbors along the way. Dan was a loving father, husband, and friend who had a heart of gold and was a treasure. Dan will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched along his journey. Family will receive visitors Monday, September 23 from 4-8 p.m. at the Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. where the funeral service will be held 11a.m. on Tuesday. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dan's name may be made to Mount Carmel Hospice.
