

Darrell Lovell Hodgins Jr., age 77, of Blacklick, Ohio passed away November 16, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was born December 31, 1938 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington to Darrell Lovell Hodgins and Dorothy Bernice (Tupper) Hodgins. He graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1957 and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Germany from 1959 to 1962. Darrell served in the U.S. Army for four years, and then again during Desert Storm; he retired from the Army Reserves in 1999. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1968 and continued his education at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill where he earned a Master's Degree in Library Science. While at BYU, he met Catherine Ann Curtis, who accepted his hand in marriage on July 26, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Darrell worked for Western Electric and retired from ATandT. He was a Boy Scouts of America leader for many years, and helped several young men achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. In addition to his wife Cathy, he is survived by his sons, Todd Alan Hodgins (Ellen Pickering Hodgins), David James Hodgins (Megan Benson Hodgins), Brett Curtis Hodgins and Rob Anderson Hodgins; 3 grandchildren, Tristan, Abby and Nathan; extended family and friends. A memorial service, celebrating a lifetime of service to family, friends, church, and country, will be held at 12 noon on December 3, 2016 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2135 Baldwin Rd., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.
