David J. Fergus

David J. Fergus, age 78, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Born in Akron, OH and a longtime resident of Upper Arlington. A 1955 Upper Arlington High School graduate, graduated Valparaiso University in 1959 and earned his Master's degree from OSU in 1961. David was a lifelong active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Teacher in the Upper Arlington Secondary School System for 32 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol nee Renner of 55 years; sons, William C. "Bill", Paul A., and Mark D.; granddaughter, Sarah (Chris) Alverson; great grandson, Joshua David; siblings, Carolyn Fergus, Martin (Dorothy), James (Cheryl); many nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 13 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. Worthington, OH 43085. A Funeral Service will be at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 766 S. High St. Columbus, OH 43206, Monday, September 14th, 2015 at 11 a.m. where family will also receive friends 1 hour prior to service. Reverends Larry Kudart and Wesley Hromowyk officiating and interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in David's memory.
