David Caldwell Goss, age 74, of Upper Arlington, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2011. Dave was born March 10, 1937 in Columbus, OH and was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Norval D. Goss, Sr.; sister-in-law Joanne Goss and his loving wife of 42 years, Andria W. Goss. He attended Bexley High School and was a graduate of The Ohio State University. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Epsilon Pi Tau Honorary Industrial Education Fraternity, The Classic Car Club of America, and was a Jennings Scholar. He worked in the 121st Tactical Fighter Wing Command Post at Lockbourne Air Force Base. He touched the lives of many students while he taught wood shop and drafting at Upper Arlington High School and Jones Middle School for 28 years. He was a master woodworker. Dave loved to restore and drive antique cars and developed many lifelong “car nut” friends from throughout the country. He was a loyal supporter of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and he was an avid Buckeye fan. He deeply loved and was so proud of his girls, sons-in-law, and his wonderful grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Scott Goss; daughters and sons-in-law, Lauri and Ron Roman, Lynn Goss, and Shermie and Gus Orazen; grandchildren, Rachel, Benjamin, and Daniel Roman, Sam and Andrea Orazen; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Tony Mampieri, Molly and Ron Zesch; step-grandchildren, Cami, Annie, and Tommy Mampieri and Ryan, Tyler, Natalie and Mikey Zesch, all of Columbus; brothers, Richard E. Goss and Norval D. Jr. and Sue Goss; inlaws, Leonard and Joan Wise, Michael Wise, Louis and Betty Tiberi and many nieces and nephews who he loved very much. Dave will be missed by his family and many dear friends. Many thanks to HomeReach Hospice, the compassionate nurses and staff at Altercare of Hilliard and all the people who came to visit him. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church at Mill Run, 3500 Mill Run Blvd., Hilliard, OH with Pastor Paul Ulring officiating.
