David R. Huffman

David R. Huffman, age 55, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010 after a valiant battle with leukemia. Dave was born on November 7, 1954 in Findlay, Ohio. He is the son of Richard and Margaret (Folk) Huffman. Dave was a graduate of Findlay High School, where he excelled in music and sports, especially cross country. He went on to receive his BA in English and his BS in Pharmacy from The Ohio State University. He was employed with Medco as a pharmacist. Dave enjoyed gardening, fishing and cars. He was the cornerstone of his loving family as well as the stabilizing influence for everyone he touched. Dave will always be remembered as a wordsmith, a compassionate lover of life and a true “gentle” man. He is survived by Virginia, his loving wife of 31 years, his beloved children, Alex and Amanda (fiancé, Tom Russ) his adored grandson, Conrad, his parents, Richard and Margaret, his brother Steve (Bev) Huffman, sisters Jane (Eric) VanRenterghem and Kathy (Bill) Conine, along with nieces and nephews Andrea, Craig, Brynn, Jordan, Kevin, Meryn, Angie, Josh, Mark and Briana. He will be sadly missed by sisters-in-law Peggy and Gabrielle as well as mother-in-law Ann. Visitiation will be Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 11am at North Broadway United Methodist Church, 48 E. North Broadway, Columbus, Ohio 43214. Internment will follow at Union Cemetery.
