David R Kujawa, best known as Pastor Kujo, Farmer Dave, or Papa Kuj, 56, died on October 1, 2019. Visitation will take place from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday October 4th at Cypress Wesleyan Church (377 Alton Darby Creek Rd. Galloway, OH.) A funeral/celebration of life will also be held at Cypress Church on October 5th at 10:30am. Kujo was born on May 12, 1963 in Toledo, Ohio to Ronald and Susan Kujawa. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald, mother Susan and sister Denise. He is survived by his wife Marlene, 3 sons; Tyler (Alyssa), Kyle (Karlee), Trent (Dakota) and daughter Makayla. Along with his younger siblings Mark (Laura) Kujawa, Debbie (Louie) Boraggina, Brian (Molly) Kujawa, and Tammy (Andy) Roesner; brother-in-law, Paul Winters; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many close friends. He attended Whiteford Wesleyan Church growing up and it was here he met his one of a kind life partner, Marlene. The two did life together from this point on and ended up at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. Here, he graduated with a Bachelor's in ministry and Master's in Christian education. He married his beautiful bride and began working as a youth pastor at College Wesleyan. Kujo and Marlene have spent the last 31 years together triumphing through all stages of life. Including a 17-month courageous battle against brain cancer and leukemia. They spent some time working in Ohio at Cypress Church until 2008 they moved to Holland, Michigan where Kujo became a youth pastor and then a pumpkin farmer. Kujo and his daughter Makayla started a family Pumpkin Patch business together when Makayla was 10 years old. This is where his nickname Farmer Dave comes from, as he was the favorite for all to visit. Then in 2016, Kujo his wife Marlene and daughter Makayla moved back to Columbus, Ohio to begin helping Cypress Church plant more campuses to spread the light of the Lord. Throughout the years, they welcomed 3 beautiful daughter in-laws into their family, Alyssa- married to Tyler, Karlee- married to Kyle, and Dakota- married to Trent. Along with their sweet granddaughter, Rena, daughter of Tyler and Alyssa. Kujo was nothing short of amazing in all aspects of life. He was the definition of a selfless servant who was always striving to put others first and let it be known to anyone who would listen what a faithful God we have. As a father, he made each of his children feel special and covered in love by all he did. He had his boys throwing footballs and his daughter throwing tea parties before they could walk. As a friend, he was dedicated to being there for others and never ceasing to create a moment to laugh. As a pastor, he worked harder than anyone to show what it means to live like Jesus. As a husband, he showed his kids and those around him what it means to loyally love and cherish a spouse. He didn't just live to have an influence he lived to leave a legacy.
