Deborah was born on January 2, 1958 in Tachikawa, Japan to Paul and Polly Couch where her father was stationed with the U.S. Air Force. During her life she lived in, and traveled to, numerous locations across the country but always called Hindman, Kentucky her home.
She was proud that she completed a degree in nursing and served as a psychiatric nurse for many years. Most recently she was a health office assistant with the Worthington Schools where she cared for some of the district's most fragile students. Unfortunately, she had to leave that position once her cancer was diagnosed.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Donna, cherished mother-in-law Marion and friend Ruth. Survived by husband Paul, brother, Paul Couch Jr., daughters, Crystal Stamper, Danielle Hill (Charlie), Jessica Hendershot (Greg) and best friend, Sandy Honeycutt (Willie). Deborah devoted time each day to the happiness and success of her grandchildren, Cory Smith (Sonia), Sebastian Smith (Victoria), Skylar Collins, Grayson Hendershot and Campbell Harlow Hill as well as her great grandchildren, Callie, Ramsay and Logan.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 26 from 12 noon to 3 pm at Schoedinger's Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street. Later Sunday, Deborah will return home to Kentucky for services on Monday, August 27 from 2 to 4 pm, at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home in Hindman. Interment will be alongside her parents at Mountain Memory Garden.
Deborah greatly appreciated the support of her friends and the kind, compassionate care of everyone on the staffs of Dr. David Liebner and Dr. Raju Raval at The James Cancer Hospital. Each significantly contributed to the quality and longevity of her life. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory may be made to The Steps for Sarcoma Fund #314006 at The James Cancer Hospital, PO Box 183112, Columbus, OH 43218.
