Dendi Susanto

Dendi Susanto passed away on March 13, 2022 in Dublin, Ohio. He was born in Jakarta, Indonesia on May 27, 1964 to the late Hadi and Yosepha Susanto. Dendi attended Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, obtaining his Bachelors of Science and his Masters of Science, and achieved Academic Distinction and made the Dean’s List. With his degrees he was able to work as a pharmaceutical chemist at Glaxo Wellcome, a research chemist at Merck Frosst Canada Ltd. After he and his family moved to Dublin, Ohio in 2009, he worked as a scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim. He was then promoted to manager at Hikma Pharmaceuticals.

In Dendi’s free time, he played badminton at his local recreational center. He enjoyed traveling the world, eating great food, and tackling home improvement projects. Dendi was happy-go-lucky and believed that life is the gift that keeps on giving. His daughter recalls when they would go on adventures, just the two of them. Whether that be a road trip to the nearest ice cream shop and ramen restaurant or to visit the local scenery, he would crack sarcastic jokes and laugh like what he just said was the world’s funniest joke. He knew how to live life and his daughter learned that through his actions: he would grunt out of satisfaction every time he ate something delicious, he would do a little dance, shimmy shake when something exciting happened, and he loved drumming on any hard surface he could find when he was in a good mood. Dendi taught her that it’s important to be responsible and mature but that at times, it’s ok to act a little childish. Life is to be lived so what’s wrong with having a little fun.

Dendi will be greatly missed by his wife, Linda Li; daughter, Angelika-Lili Susanto; sisters, Ratna Hadisusanto, Gina Tan, and Fund Eng Tan; brothers, Ing Ang Tan and Kho Niong Tan; nieces, Florence, Melinda, Grace, and Jessica; nephews, Frederick and Jonathan; sister-in-law, Jingyuan Li; and his pet parakeets, ToTo and LoLo.

Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Dublin where a visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 11am-12pm followed by a service at 12pm.
