Dennis Duane Day, age 69, passed away at home on Friday, March 11, 2016. He was born on December 4, 1946 in Columbus to Denver and Helen (Chapman) Day. Dennis graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1964. He was the assistant football coach and was the first to make All City in football. He went on to graduate from The Ohio State University, and to retire from Columbus City Schools and U.S. Air. He was preceded in death by his father, Denver Day. Survived by his mother, Helen Day; cousins Phil (Cathy) Harris and Gary (Shelley) Harris; and his beloved dog, Nellie. Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held at 10 am Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Pastor Jack Helton officiating. Interment to follow at Harrison Township Cemetery.
