Dennis Joseph Healy, loving husband, brother and friend died Wednesday August 19, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Dennis was born in Wheaton, IL and spent his formative years in Upper Arlington, OH. It was while attending St. Agatha Grade School and later Bishop Watterson High School that Dennis formed some of his strongest and most treasured friendships. Dennis and his friends were known as pranksters and never shied from mischief.
After high school, Dennis enrolled at The Ohio State University. His graduation was put on hold while he battled non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. His strength and determination tested, Dennis overcame this setback and graduated from The Ohio State University, which led to a successful career in the composites industry.
Dennis began a slow migration west with stops in Dayton, OH, Indianapolis, IN, St. Charles, IL and later in St. Paul, MN. It was during this period that he finally met his match and girl of his dreams – Lisa Ewald and married her.
Dennis and Lisa moved back to Central Ohio, making their home in Dublin, OH and giving him time to be close to family and reconnecting with old friends.
Dennis was passionate about whatever he put his mind to – music, weightlifting, cooking, fishing, gardening, animals, Ohio State Buckeyes and his relationships. He was a loving husband, great brother and loyal friend.
Dennis will be missed by so many, and stories of his epic escapades will be passed on for generations.
Preceded in death by his parents James “Bud” and Margaret Healy and nephew John Tyler, he is survived by his wife Lisa Ewald (sons Jeffery & Jacob) sisters, Mary Smith (sons Adam & Sean) and Eileen Ryan (Douglas and son Graham) and brother, Michael Healy (Tracy and daughter Cadyn) and countless friends and colleagues.
He will be truly missed.
Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Friday at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085, where his Funeral Service will be held at 10am, Saturday, August 22, 2015. Funeral Celebrant, Andrew Hoover, will be officiating.
