

Wm. Richard “Dick” Lawless, 80, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, February 14, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 3, 1930 to Orren and Pauline (Sampson) Lawless, he was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Jean Lawless; sister and brother-in-law, Esther and George Null and his daughter, Joy Lynn Lawless-Carpenter. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Anna M. Wilkins Lawless; daughter, Mindy Lawless Sword and Roxann Lawless; grandson Jared Richard Sword and his fiancé, Dawn Andreen; granddaughter, Anna Janell Carpenter; great-grandson, Caleb Andreen; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dick was an avid mechanic for years in the Commercial Point community; He was a former owner of a winning racing team for years and was an avid Nascar and sports fan. He retired from UPS at the age of 55 to follow in his father’s footsteps…to tinker on lawn mowers and to grow tomato plants from seedlings. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a lifetime member of VFW Post #8198. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123 where the funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday; Mr. Perry Fausnaugh, officiating.
