
Dolores (Dee) M. Anderson, 78, of Newark, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Hospice of Central Ohio after a long illness. She was born on September 14, 1932 in Byesville, OH to the late William and Alice (Knox) Spence.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Clyde (Andy) Anderson of Newark; daughter, Kathryn (Kathie) Anderson of Newport News, VA; son, Karl Anderson of Newark; granddaughters; Lindsay Anderson of Chicago, IL and Kelsea Anderson of Granville, OH; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Kay Spence of Frazeysburg, OH and sister-in-law Marjorie Anderson Wright of Johnstown, OH.
Dolores graduated from Newark High School. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and she was active in the Heath High School Athletic Boosters Club while her children attended Heath High School. She was an accomplished seamstress and cake decorator, specializing in wedding dresses and wedding cakes.
After her husband retired from Rockwell International, they moved to Florida and lived there for 21 years until they returned to live in Newark in 2005. She was active in their church Christ Community United Methodist Church of Harbor Heights, Florida. She was President of the Harbor Heights Garden Club for several years and was a member of the “Kitchen Band” which performed at nursing homes and numerous civic organizations.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved pet, Benji.
