Donald L. Hatfield

Donald L. Hatfield, age 71, of Whitehall, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Mt. Carmel West. Don graduated in 1964 from Whitehall Yearling High School. He is preceded in death by parents, Tom and Anna Hatfield; nephew, Jeff and his wife, Mary Jo; brother-in-law, Carl and brother, William. Don is survived by loving wife of 50 years, Dorothy; children, Don (Shelly) Hatfield, Jr., Tina (Rex Swayne), David (Tracy) Hatfield, Michael (Suzann) Hatfield and Donita (DJ) Elder; 11 grandsons; 5 granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons; 11 great-granddaughters; siblings, Mary, Nancy Sue (Bob) and James D. and Richard (Paula); along with several nieces and nephews. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved being around nature. He enjoyed coaching Tee Ball and Football where his players would refer to him as "Dad" or "Grandpa". Don was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa who loved taking his family on picnics. Donald Hatfield shared the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. A private family interment will take place at Glen Rest Memorial Estates at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital in his name.
