Donald Winston Jacob

Dr. Donald W. Jacob, 74, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on January 28, 2017 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's from complication of pneumonia. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jack Jacob Jr. and parents, Jack and Marge Jacob. Don is survived by his wife Teresa Flanagan Jacob of Columbus; son, Todd (Melissa) Jacob and grandchildren, Eileen, Elena, Evan and Elisabeth of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Lyn Jacob Garcia (Guillermo) of Barcelona, Spain; stepson, Bill (Jaclyn) Cunningham of Pittsburgh, PA. Don was born on August 27, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio. He did his undergraduate work at The Ohio State University where he received his MD in 1968. He served as an Army doctor in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1972. He worked as the head of emergency services until 1989 at which time he retired. He was sober and clean for 14 years and attended a 12-step program. Don's passions were politics and cosmology. Family will receive friends from 10am-12pm Thursday, February 2, 2017 with a service beginning at noon at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230.
