Donald Daniel O'Harra

Donald Daniel O'Harra, 84, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 9, 2016. He was born January 10, 1932 in Griffith, IN to the late Emery and Eloise O'Harra. He was a 1950 graduate of Hamilton Twp. High School, a member of the Washington Avenue United Methodist Church and the Lockbourne Masonic Lodge No. 232. Don loved serving his country for 40 years as a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Ohio Air National Guard. He loved animals, especially his horse Major and 2 dogs Frankie and Missy. He was a "Mr. Fixit" who enjoyed fixing anything. Don and his wife Shirley would have celebrated a wonderful 35 years of devoted marriage on September 12th and they knew God had guided their love. They loved traveling the world, especially to Hawaii with their dearest friends Nellie and Russ Allman. Don is preceded in death by his first wife, Donna; daughter Barbara Norman; sisters, Dorothy and Ann; and brother, John (Carol). He is survived by his loving wife Shirley, children Brenda (David) Colegrove, Brian (Abigail) O'Harra and Michelle (David) Anderson, grandchildren Donna, Zachary, Dacia, Grant and Anara, great granddaughter Jayda, special brother-in-law Bob (Jean) Kreisel, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 14th from 5-8 PM with Masonic Service at 7:30 PM SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Funeral service at the funeral home will be held at 1 PM Friday, July 15th. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association (lung.org or 1-800-LUNGUSA) or Air Force Aid Society (afas.org or 1-800-769-8951).
