Donald Gene Parsons

Donald Gene Parsons, age 44, of Columbus, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 4, 2016 at OSU Medical Center. Donald was longtime stock car racer at Columbus Motor Speedway along with his late father, Big Daddy Don, and brother, The Bubba Man, as well as many other members of his family including nephews, Matt and Tyler Parsons and Brian Rideout, and a dedicated Pit Crew of dear friends. A skilled mechanic, he had worked for many car dealerships over the years including Saturn North and most recently worked at Straight Up Equipment. He is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Parsons; father, Donald Parsons; and brothers, Donald E. Parsons and Dearl “Bubba” Parsons. He is survived by his son, Donovan Parsons; “son”, Cory Arias; siblings, Debbie (Rick White) Sells, Dearl E. (Judy) Parsons, Tamela Rideout; Cherie (Gary) Brenner, Brenda (Bob Hoover) Johnson, Lisa (Mike) Taylor; best friend and mother of his child, April Bryson; many other relatives and friends.
