Donna Kay Barnes

Donna Kay Edwards Barnes, age 64, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 16, 1946 to the late Donald William and Kathleen (Tanner) Edwards. Donna was a 1964 graduate of West High School and retired from The Heinzerling Foundation in 2009 after 30 years of service. She was member of The American Legion Post #532, The AMVETS Post #1928, and The Moose Lodge #11. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray W. Barnes who passed away in June 2003. Survivors include her sons, Mark and Bryan Barnes; grandsons, Dylan Ray Barnes and Elijah Blake Barnes; and sister, Darlene “Pudge” Edwards. Donna will be remembered as a wonderful and loving mom, grandma, and sister. She was the light of her family’s world and always kept everyone smiling! In lieu of flowers donations in Donna’s honor may be made to The Heinzerling Foundation, 1800 Heinzerling Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43223. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM until time of funeral service at 7:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus.
